The reliability and precision of an ordinary mechanical watch can be affected by a magnetic field of 50 to 100 gauss. But many scientists are exposed to much higher magnetic fields during the course of their work. Rolex’s solution was the Rolex Milgauss, created in 1956, the first watch of its kind. Hence the name of the watch, mille being French for thousand. In 2007, Rolex brought back the Milgauss after nearly two decades as the model 116400. It features a 40mm stainless steel case with black dial, highly sought after green crystal, Luminous index hour markers and the famous orange lightning bolt second hand. It will fit up to a 7.5 inch wrist and comes complete with the original box and papers. The watch is in very good condition with very few signs of wear. This watch has been certified by our master watchmaker and comes with our 2 year mechanical warranty.
