Article from Roberta Naas on forbes.com

Earlier this month Forbes named the world’s highest-paid female athletes of 2015.

Interestingly enough, most of those women are tennis stars – making their way to New York City this week in time for the US Open. A few of them also top out in other sports such as auto racing, golf and wrestling. Here, we bring you a quick look at the timepieces that eight out of the top 10  list of  highest-paid female athletes wear on their wrists.

Tennis great and highest-paid athlete, Maria Sharapova (with an income estimated at $29.7 million), wears a TAG Heuer on her wrist. She has the right to wear any TAG Heuer she prefers and has been spotted in the Formula 1 Steel and ceramic watch with diamond pave’ center dial and diamond bezel (approximate retail $5,300).

Serena Williams, top tennis star (ranking second highest on the income list at $24.6 million) who recently took the Wimbledon Singles title, wears the Audemars Piguet 37mm Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph watch. The rubber strapped timepiece houses a self-winding movement with date display, chronograph functions and 32 brilliant-cut diamonds on it (approximate retail price, $28,600). The third-highest- and fifth-highest-paid female athletes on the list are also tennis greats and both are  Rolex brand ambassadors. Caroline Wozniacki, Danish tennis star ($14.6 million in income) and Serbian tennis star Ana Ivanovic ($8.3 million) have both been seen wearing a  Rolex COSC-certified chronometer Datejust — a signature timepiece for the brand with emblematic date window and magnifying lens.

Easily one of the most successful women in American racing, Patrick has worked with Tissot to create several Tissot T-Race Danica Patrick Limited Edition timepieces that underscore her style.
